Qatar Airways shares 5-day recovery schedule for disrupted Doha flights
Refunds and rebooking options available until April 30
DUBAI/DOHA – Qatar Airways has introduced a limited flight schedule for several days in March after the closure of Qatari airspace forced the suspension of most of its operations, disrupting journeys for thousands of passengers across its global network.
The temporary schedule will run between March 13 and March 17, allowing the airline to gradually move travellers whose journeys were halted when flights were cancelled. Authorities have permitted the airline to operate through restricted flight corridors, enabling select services to depart and arrive at Hamad International Airport.
The carrier emphasised that the flights are being organised primarily to assist affected passengers and should not be interpreted as the full resumption of normal commercial operations.
Etihad's flight operations
According to the airline, the flights are being operated following temporary authorisation granted by the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, which has allowed limited operating corridors for aircraft movements.

These restricted routes are enabling Qatar Airways to run select services in the coming days while broader airspace conditions continue to be assessed by aviation authorities.
The airline said the temporary operations aim to support passengers whose travel plans were interrupted and help move travellers who were stranded during the suspension of flights.
A full return to normal network operations will only be possible once authorities confirm that Qatari airspace can reopen safely for commercial traffic.
Passenger guidance
Passengers eligible to travel on the limited flights will be contacted directly by the airline with updated booking details and travel instructions.
Travellers have been advised not to go to the airport unless they hold a confirmed ticket, as airport access and flight capacity remain tightly controlled during the restricted operating period.
To check the latest schedule or make bookings, passengers can use the airline’s website, mobile application or contact travel agents. The carrier has also arranged selected direct point-to-point flights to help travellers continue their journeys where possible.
Eligible passengers for these services will receive direct communication from the airline.
Booking flexibility
Qatar Airways has also introduced temporary flexibility measures for travellers affected by the disruption.
Passengers with confirmed bookings and travel dates between February 28 and March 28, 2026 are eligible to modify their travel plans without penalty.
Travellers may choose between:
- A complimentary date change to a new travel date up to April 30, 2026, provided the rebooked flight is operated by Qatar Airways
- A refund of the unused value of their ticket
The airline said the quickest way for passengers to manage bookings or make modifications is through its online booking system or mobile application.
Safety is priority
The airline reiterated that the safety and wellbeing of passengers and crew remain its highest priority as authorities continue to evaluate airspace conditions.
Operations are expected to expand once the aviation regulator confirms that normal traffic can resume safely. Until then, Qatar Airways will continue operating the limited schedule to support affected travellers and reconnect disrupted journeys across its network.
